I’m Will, the person behind Willstone Digital. I create websites for independent businesses that want to make a strong first impression, explain what they do clearly and turn interest into enquiries. Based in Shropshire and working with businesses across the UK, I offer a personal approach to website design, with direct communication from our first conversation through to launch.
Before university, I studied art and design. I then went on to gain an undergraduate degree from Cardiff University and a master’s degree from the University of Sussex. That has shaped how I approach design: with curiosity about people, attention to detail and an interest in how we understand information. When someone arrives on your website, I want them to quickly understand your business, feel comfortable exploring and know how to get in touch.
Before creating anything, I take time to understand what makes your business yours. I ask about your customers, your services, your personality and what you want to achieve. You might have a clear vision, a few websites you like or simply a feeling that your current website no longer represents you. Wherever you’re starting, those conversations help give the design a meaningful direction.
I enjoy finding the balance between something distinctive and something straightforward to use. For one business, that might mean bold typography and strong project photography. For another, it could be softer colours, elegant lettering and a warmer, more personal tone. The aim is to create a website that feels right for the business behind it and makes sense to the people visiting it.
Mobile design is a central part of that process. Your website should feel considered on a phone, with readable text, comfortable spacing and contact options that are easy to find. I also pay attention to how the pages flow, how images support the wording and how movement can add interest. Subtle animation should help the experience feel polished while keeping the content easy to follow.
